It was the early afternoon of June 3rd.
The sun had just come up, and I had risen with it to get out into my yard and mow the shrubbery, trim the hedges, and edge the walkways.
In my area—which has a truly sizzling summer time time temperature—it was important to do outdoor chores like these as early as possible to avoid the scorching midday sun. I drank extra coffee, prepared my reusable water bottle, and donned my gloves for what I hoped would be a productive afternoon. The sun rose quickly that afternoon, and I had just finished the mowing when I started to feel faint. I figured that I just needed some water, but after downing my entire bottle, I still felt light-headed and nauseous. I told myself that I would push through, and that if I was coming down with something, I would be even less motivated to work in the yard. But by the time I put the mower back in the shed, I found that I could barely stand. I retreated, with defeat, to the cool comforts of my residing room, almost having to crawl through the front door from heat exhaustion. My Heating and Air Conditioning system was a god-send that afternoon; it was still mid-morning, but the heat just overtook me, and the only solution was to recline for an hour under an a/c vent, luckily, my Heating and Air Conditioning system is truly charming at dehumidifying the air, and the cooling system was working efficiently to turn the moderate air outside into the cool, dry, comforting blasts that were hitting my face. I was grateful to my Heating and Air Conditioning corporation, who had been out to the dwelling just a few afternoons before for a routine repair to my cooling system. Because of her, my a/c was saving the afternoon!
